It’s been barely two months since Lambourghini released pictures of its new 5.2 Litre V10 Huracán LP610. The 610 brake horse power beast sporting a new 7 speed dual clutch and an all wheel drive gearbox has attracted a lot of attention. Select VIP’s have been allowed to view the vehicle, which probably accounts for the 700 cars pre-sold. The public will be able to view the stunning Gallardo successor at its debut next month at the Geneva Motor show.

The Huracán which looks like a baby Aventador, boasts impressive figures too with 0-62 in just 3.2 and a top speed in excess of 200mph. Inside the car there is a large 12.3-inch full color TFT instrument panel with a screen for all of the details that any driver could possibly want, including a tachometer and navigational maps. The Huracan can thank its light weight (just 1422 kgs) to its carbon/aluminium hybrid chassis. This lack of weight paired with the high power V10 results in an impressive power to weight ratio of 2.33kg per hp. According to Lamborghini the low weight of the Huracán also results in racecar-like handling and precision.

Lambourghini only sold 2,121 cars in 2013, the Gallardo being the top seller in the last ten years with just over 14,000 sold worldwide. Its exciting to see a fresh new smaller Lambo instead of the long number of special edition version of the Gallardo. With the 700 orders already placed that accounts for over half of the expected 2014 production for the Italian supercar manufacturer things are looking good for Lambourghini. While no exact price has been released it would be an educated guess to say it would be similarly priced to its predecessor the Gallardo.
