At Walton Bridge Garage the value of our service is rivalled only by our love for dogs and Nissan have designed a car to marry our two passions of canines and cars.
They’ve unveiled a new concept, that to be honest, isn’t so much a new model but a modified X-Trail called the X-Trail 4Dogs concept.
You can see the video below but if you don’t share our passion for dogs then you can probably skip the first minute, although it’s worth it for the St Bernard.
Most of the modifications are understandably limited to the boot of the car but it still looks like the bi-product of a Pimp My Ride dog special.
It comes with a few very useful features including an easy clean padded floor, dog bed, shower mat and trendy dog shower and even a hair dryer.
It also comes with inside heating, added storage and harness hooks as it is now the law that a dog must be secured when in a car.
It then starts to get a little more Crufts-esque with a ramp so your dog doesn’t have to jump into the boot (although probably redundant as if they want to jump they will), a no spill water bowl and even a smart food bowl that spins around to reveal food when activated.
The two-way pooch cam is a little odd from the dogs’ perspective but also pretty snazzy and the shiny dog shaped logo will ensure everyone knows you’re a dog lover from the outside.
We prefer the Turner and Hooch style of dog transportation but these days it’s much safer to have them safely secured in the back seat at least, whilst the vehicle is moving.
