Considering Walton Bridge Garage is located in a landlocked county and services cars you will be forgiven for wondering why we are banging on about boats.
But it the London Boat Show has just passed last weekend and it isn’t the first time and it probably won’t be the last, as long as car manufactures such as Lexus keep diving into the nautical market with works of art like the Lexus Sport Yacht.
The yacht is the brain child of Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda, who was checking out the marine division’s latest boat powered by Toyota diesel engines and thought “I wonder what a luxury yacht based around the Lexus design would look like”.
Unlike the majority of the world who would have had to keep on imagining, Akio turned his thoughts into actions and here we are.
It’s made from carbon fibre by American company Marquis-Carver Yacht Group, and boasts two naughty Lexus blue V8s which are visible through the see-through engine compartment. Each churn out 440 horse power and although this is less than a land based Lexus, they produce a top speed of 49mph or 42.5 knots, which is not to be snubbed when talking speed on water.
Of course, like many luxury cars today, speed is not enough. The Lexus Sports Yacht comes with all the amenities an upper-class yachtsman could want. Seating for himself and seven other treacles on deck, two of which fold out from the captain’s chair itself for extra proximity treacle mining. There is also a couple of touchscreens displaying all the sea related information. Below deck there is a plethora of leather, finely finished wood and even air-con, as well as a table and seating for six.
You will also feel right at home as well with a sink, fridge, stove and bathroom with a shower!
Unfortunately, you won’t have seen it at the London Boat Show last weekend as it’s currently just a concept. But we can’t wait for the latest Grand Tour stunt to be a water based adventure featuring luxury yachts by Lexus, Aston Martin and Mercedes!
Which do you prefer?
