It’s been a tough couple of weeks, even months, for many around the world. This week’s awful news on the Columbian plane crash has certainly added to that and at Walton Bridge Garage our thoughts and prayers go out to all involved and those that have lost someone as a result.
These sorts of events always seem that much worse heading into the festive season but equal to that is our human nature to come together to help people in their hour of need. Whether that be someone donating their last few pounds, or high-profile fundraising drives by big brands.
There may be an air of suspicion around big brands engaging in Corporate Social Responsibility and other potential “PR driven” acts of kindness. But we think this one is a nice touch none the less.
Since August Italy has been rocked by a number of earthquakes, the largest of which was a magnitude of 6.2 and caused devastation to the country. So perhaps the most iconic Italian brand of all, Ferrari, has teamed up with the National Italian American Foundation’s Earthquake Relief Fund and RM Southeby’s to auction off a completely unique, one-off, LaFerrari, from their very own collection.
The proceeds will help towards repairing and reconstructing central Italy and the auction will take place at the Finali Mondiali at the Daytona International Speedway.
The car itself may not sound too unique, given it wears the traditional Ferarri red, but it does have the Italian colours on its nose, unique white accents and a totally bespoke interior that makes it a real one of a kind piece.
It’s unlikely that the average joe that wants to help the cause has the sort of lose change that this Ferrari is likely to go for.
If that’s the case, you could happily settle for one of these sweet Ford Lego models and donate some of your pocket money to a good cause.
