Jaguar have revealed their Mercedes E63 AMG estate competitor the mighty XFR-S Sportbrake at this years Geneva motor show. The 5 litre Supercharged V8 boasts an impressive 542 BHP and 502lb ft. With a claimed 0-60 of 4.2 seconds and a limited top speed of 186mph.
The powerful V8 is paired with the same fantastic 8 speed automatic gearbox with quickshift technology that you will find in the beautifully styled F-type. The Sportbrake’s transmission is extremely clever it includes a corner recognition system which senses cornering and adjusts itself for the optimum ratio on the corners exit. It also blips the revs up slightly on a downshift in “Sport mode”.
The extremely stylish 20 inch alloy wheels come wrapped in specially Pirelli developed tyre’s the rears sporting a 295 section to ensure all that power reaches the tarmac. Fitted with a high performance braking system the 380mm vented discs benefit from additional cooling due to special under-body air channels.
The Sportbrake is also arguably more pretty than its saloon counterpart. It gets a black grill as well as unique gloss black trim around the grill, glass, vents and the hatch. Larger intakes to ensure adequate ventilation to the engine, as well as additional aero-moldings which only add to its fantastic looks. As for the paintwork the Sportbrake is limited to Ultra Blue, Ultimate Black, Stratus Grey, Polaris White, and Italian Racing Red.
The interior includes a dark aluminum trim for the dashboard. Charcoal leather trim on the seats bolsters and armrests with R-S logos embossed with the option of red, blue, or ivory piping and stitching.
